Alyssa teaches a wide age range, and she is mindful of making these practices accessible to all beings. Her style is invitational and supportive as she guides students in exploring multiple layers of being, also known as the koshas.

Jackie “Rainbow” Ryan
Wilderness instructorDedicated to cultivating relationships between children and the naturally magical world they come from, Jackie started teaching nature connection at Common Ground Summer Camp in 2017. For three years, she honed her skills as Lead Mentor, Manager, and Camp Director at Two Coyotes Wilderness School.
Jackie’s belief in the importance of connection catalyzed her to open Rainbow’s Nature School in Spring 2021. Her classes combine naturalist skills, artistic explorations, educational games, songs, and child-led activities. Working with kids in home and educational settings for 10+ years taught Jackie that hands-on, immersive experience in nature gives students a true and lasting sense of belonging.
Her gentle, playful mentoring style cultivates a space for children to be their true, connected selves.
Dawyn Cloud Alter
LMFT, Holistic practitioner, Herbalist, EFT Practitioner Dawyn Cloud-Alter, LMFT, is a holistic practitioner, consultant, and educator with 30 years of experience in integrated wellness.
As licensed marriage and family therapists, practicing herbalist, and EFT practitioners, they support the whole person through mental health, plant wisdom, and somatic energy work. She previously taught herbal medicine at Western Connecticut University and enjoys nature, wildcrafting, and deepening their connection to the earth.

Through culinary training, professional development, employment opportunities, prepared foods, and catering, Sanctuary Kitchen supports new residents of Greater New Haven while sharing food and traditions from cultures around the world. It is part of CitySeed’s broader work to build a more equitable, inclusive, and connected local food system.
